BACKGROUND: The Kennett Holiday Village Market was initiated by Kennett Township supervisor Whitney Hoffman who wanted to bring the essence of vibrant European Christmas Market to the Kennett area. The goal of the Holiday Village Market to give local and regional artisans an opportunity to sell their wares, to provide visitors another great reason to visit Kennett Square and to highlight the revitalization of the Birch Street corridor.
Kennett Square resident and artisan Meredith Langer was brought on to curate the Holiday Village with support from Caroline Roosevelt an artist an community organizer for Kennett Township. Meredith Langer is the owner of Merely Mere which, outside of Meredith’s artist endeavors, involves teaching workshops and creating decor for events & weddings. Further guidance and support comes the Creamery of Kennett Square and from local merchant Tara Dugan of Scout & Annie and the newly opened artisan market WorKS Kennett Square (located just around the corner from the Creamery of Kennett Square).
